Spain is a big country and people who decide to live in the urban areas or the big cities or places really have to pay more compared to those who live in the rural areas. Places like Madrid and Barcelona are just two of the key places in Spain that would really cost somebody a lot of money in terms of daily expenses.
For travelers, it is the same thing. Tourists could find cheap villas in Spain and other accommodations in the rural areas or the countryside than in the key cities. But with careful planning and enough preparation everything can be sorted out.
